When discussing art, I often encounter criticism based on the “antecedence of themes” argument. This suggests that creators first conceptualise an abstract idea and then design their work to align with this concept. Consequently, they’re accused of lacking specific and real-life experience. I’m puzzled why “antecedence of themes” would exclude emotion.
I believe men are blessed with “antecedence of themes” because they can remain steadfast towards a clear goal. Conversely, we often view “meta-theme” as something to suffer from, only to be revisited as a past life perspective for interpreting various self-deceptions. More frequently, we find ourselves in an “Untitled” chaotic situation – the everyday reality of life.
